About Fire Adapted Communities –
After the Fire.
The Latino Environmental Justice HUB, in partnership with Washington Fire Adapted Communities Network and the Okanogan County Long Term Recovery Group, presents a free five– week online course to increase awareness and community engagement on wildfire adaptation and learn from communities that traditionally have been overlooked in the state of Washington.
The course plans to:
- Provide resources to live better with wildfires.
- Strengthen leadership skills.
- Advocate for equitable solutions.
Course focus and structure.
The focus of this course is to provide all the information and tools necessary for you and your family to be respond and recovery in the event of a wildfire. Each of the modules will have supporting materials and complementary information to support you in your learning process.
The course is structured around five weeks:
Week 1: Wildfire trauma and emotional health.
Week 2: During the fire and evacuation period.
Week 3: Returning home: Safety and physical and emotional health.
Week 4: Returning Home: Insurance Claims and Clean Up.
Week 5: Ongoing Relief and Recovery Efforts.
