Huella Zero, in collaboration with the National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ), hosted the webinar “Every Story Is an Environmental Story” for journalists. The session featured Lina Martínez, researcher in urban health and climate change; Maritza Félix, journalist and founder of Conecta Arizona; and renowned meteorologist Marcos Mora as moderator.
The webinar examined how extreme heat, floods, wildfires, and air pollution are not isolated events, but part of the broader context shaping communities. Speakers explored how stories about health, migration, the economy, or education can, and should, be framed through an environmental lens.
This session marked the second of three training sessions under the alliance with NAHJ, launched in 2025. A workshop is also planned for this year’s NAHJ Annual Conference in New Orleans.
Through this partnership, Huella Zero and NAHJ aim to equip journalists with tools and resources to cover complex environmental issues and the far-reaching impacts of climate change. To stay informed about upcoming Huella Zero workshops, readers are invited to subscribe to the monthly newsletter.
