On April 22, Sachamama screened its documentary Healthy Oceans, Strong Communities for communities in Santa Maria, California.
The M-310 classroom, known as “The Whale Room,” at Allan Hancock College hosted the screening. Attendees learned about the importance of protecting Marine Protected Areas (MPAs), the science supporting them, and the threats they face.
The special event was supported by the nonprofit organizations Santa Barbara County Action Network (SBCAN) and Mixteco/Indígena Community Organizing Project (MICOP).
