Together with the National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ), we have launched a collaboration to provide journalists with training and resources to cover complex environmental issues, including the far-reaching impacts of climate change.
The collaboration includes three webinars, starting with the first on Wednesday, November 19 at 6:30 p.m. EST, as well as additional sessions in 2026. In addition, together with NAHJ, we will co-sponsor a session and a workshop at the NAHJ Annual Conference in New Orleans.
NAHJ members will also gain access to Sachamama’s Climate Hub resources, along with reserved spots in an upcoming Climate Leadership Course with Florida International University.
“Climate change is not just a story for environmental journalists or meteorologists—it shapes coverage of health, business, immigration, politics, and even local community news,” said NAHJ Executive Director Yaneth Guillén-Díaz. “By expanding training and resources in this area, we’re helping members across all beats strengthen their reporting on issues that increasingly touch every aspect of daily life.”
NAHJ’s Climate Task Force will work closely with Sachamama to ensure that each training’s content is tailored to the needs of Latino journalists. Members will receive additional details about the first webinar and registration instructions in the coming weeks.
